Shine Your Light Fund Winner: Sherrion “Cliche” Video

Commonwealth Foundation is proud to share with you the first products from one of our 2015 “Shine Your Light” Fund winners, Sherrion Jolly. The Shine Your Light Fund is designed to help promote emerging creatives to an audience and demographic wider than their own direct network.

Sherrion, a light hearted songstress, was a participant in our inaugural season of PROjectUS. Through her dedication to her craft and the program, she was name a 2015 Shine Your Light Fund recipient. This Cliche music video was produced by Commonwealth Foundation, directed by student turned Visual Media Coordinator – Brandon Towns.

2nd Annual Style Bias Fashion Week

Oct 8th 2015, We held our second annual Style Bias Fashion Week shows at Block 37 in Chicago, IL. The featured designers for the event were current and alum designers of the (PRO)jectUS / Steam Studio program. This event serves as a professional incentive for participants of Season 1 of (PRO)jectUS. Starting in June 2015, Commonwealth begin the initiative (PRO)jectUS.(PRO)jectUS |prō ˈjekt əs|(meaning):
PRO – advance level programming and/or skill set.
Project – to illuminate or put in the forefront.
US – initiative participants(PRO)ject US is an initiative for young adults between the ages of 13 – 23 designed to build fashion design, music production, and new media journalism skills. Adding value to the skills learned by curating artifacts created & knowledge gained in a comprehensive portfolio. Making that portfolio actionable with industry-centered special opportunities.(PRO)jectUS is supported by the Hive Chicago Fund for Connected Learning at The Chicago Community Trust.
